biopic was hospitalised recently.

While news of her being admitted to hospital after complaining of a temperature remains true, numerous reports suggested that she was on ventilator and had complained of high fever and breathlessness both. Some reports even quoted sources as stating that a neuro physician was attending her to diagnose the issue. However, writer-producer of her upcoming film, Kona Venkat, dismissed these rumours once and for all on social media. Stating that the issue has been blown out of proportion, he wrote, “Our “Karanam Malleswari”

Biopic

Some reports quote the writer-producer as stating that he’s confident Sanjana will be fine and shoot for the pan-Indian biopic will begin soon. Kona Venkat is also awaiting the release of another pan-Indian film, Nishabdham, starring Anushka Shetty, Madhavan, Michael Madsen and more in lead roles. Sanjana has been working on the biopic of weightlifted Karnam Malleswari, for a while now. While biopics of sports stars have been made in the past, this is the first time a biopic on Karnam Malleswari is being attempted. The retired

weightlifter

was the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Olympics when she won bronze at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She remains the only Indian woman to have won an Olympic medal. Malleswari was born in Voosavanipeta near Amadalavalasa in Andhra Pradesh, the village where Sanjana hails from too.
