Shiva Prasad Reddy
, one of the popular producers of Tollywood and owner of
Kamakshi Movies
, passed away at the age of 62 in Chennai. He was suffering from
heart-related ailments
for past few years and was under medication for it, say reports.
The Telugu industry veteran, who lived in an era that witnessed 100 years of Telugu cinema and had produced 15 films, of which 10 were super hits, breathed his last on the early hours of Saturday.
With many popular movies to his credit like ‘
Karthika Pournami
’, ‘Sravana Sandhya’, ‘Vicky Daada’, ‘Mutha Mestri’, ‘Allari Alludu’, ‘Seetharama Raju’, ‘Nenunnanu’, ‘King’ and Ragada, Shiva Prasad also worked with many directors and actors in Tollywood who went on to make a mark in the industry.
The Tollywood film fraternity has expressed its condolence on the sudden demise of the noted film producer and dubbed it as an "irreparable loss" to the industry.
Reddy, who last produced the Akkineni Nagarjuna starrer ‘
Greeku Veerudu
’ in 2013, is survived by his two sons.
