Niharika Konidela on producing ‘Committee Kurrollu’, says "I fell in love with the script. I could not say no"

Actor-producer Niharika Konidela, a prominent member of the renowned Telugu film family, has ventured into feature film production with her debut project, 'Committee Kurrollu'. Known for producing multiple web series for OTT platforms, Niharika hadn’t initially planned to step into feature films so soon. However, when 'Committee Kurrollu' came her way, she was captivated by the script and couldn’t resist the opportunity.

During a chat with Gulte, Niharika shared that the film’s director, Yadhu Vamsi, first narrated the story to her, and she instantly connected with it.
She said, "I was producing multiple web series for OTT platforms and did not expect to make my feature film so soon. But when Committee Kurrollu came my way, I fell in love with the script. I could not say no."

However, to ensure she wasn’t being subjective in her judgment, she asked her father, actor Nagababu Konidela, to listen to the narration. His enthusiastic approval convinced her to move forward with the project.

'Committee Kurrollu' tackles the sensitive subject of reservations, but Niharika emphasized that the film doesn’t take sides on the issue. Instead, it presents a story that touches on various themes like friendship and nostalgia for the 90s. Niharika explained that the film allows the audience to form their own interpretations without imposing a particular viewpoint.

It was also revealed that the film came to Niharika after a previous producer stepped away, but she, along with the film’s actors and technicians, believed in Yadhu Vamsi’s vision and decided to take a leap of faith.
