’, a period drama directed by Venu Udugula of ‘Needi Naadi Oke Katha’ fame. Set against the backdrop of 1990s
Telangana, the film is based on real-life incidents and shall address a variety of social issues that have been never explored in Indian cinema.
While Sai Pallavi will be seen as a jilted lover who later turns into a
Naxalite
, Rana will essay the role of a political leader in a village. According to latest reports, the ‘
Fidaa
’ beauty is all set to go
de-glam
for her lead role. Loaded with heart-wrenching scenes, the script and narration of ‘Virata Parvam 1992’ are reportedly layered with socio-political commentary.
The big-budget project is currently in the pre-production phase and the regular shoot will commence from June. Starring an ensemble star-cast like
Tabu, Priyamani, Zareena Wahab and Eeshwari Rao, the shooting of the film will reportedly take place in Warangal, Karimnagar and other hamlets of Telangana.
‘Virata Parvam 1992’ is jointly bankrolled by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Suresh Babu.
