Nani Short Film Anaganaga Oka Nanna 2

The 12-minute-long short film does not just tell the story of a not-so-ideal father; it also breaks gender stereotypes through the protagonist and her twin brother’s characters. ‘Anaganaga Oka Nanna’ is also the kind of film that makes one think the repercussions of their actions. The film starts off with a nine-year-old child named Riya struggling to write an essay on a ‘good father’ and asks her mother Siri to narrate the story of her father. While the story Siri has to tell is of a father who supressed his children’s desires, Riya finds a way to turn it into a positive one, taking the route of what if the father was different.
Nani makes a super-fun cameo after the end-credits, with his clapboard revealing that the working title of the film was ‘If Only’. Sharing the video on his social media, Nani put up another video of how the film came to be. He also adds he felt proud of the film his sister had made before leaving back to the US.
