Nandu: I’m a stronger and more confident person now

There’s a spring in his step now thanks to a “new found courage and confidence” Nandu has developed after emerging unscathed from the infamous “drug-scandal” that the actor was emboriled in recently.
“After being summonned by the SIT (

Special Investigation Team of Telangana

’s excise department), I was worried that the unsavoury episode would have a negative impact on my career. But thankfully that is not the case and I’m still getting good
projects,” says Nandu adding, “It was the most testing phase of my life. However, in hindsight, I’m glad it happened. The entire industry stood behind me like a rock and reassured me that they had ample faith in me and that things would turn out for the better.” The actor is particularly grateful to his family. “My parents and my wife (singer Geetha Madhuri) stood by my side. Their confidence in me never wavered for even for a minute. And I’ve realised why they say, “The love of your family is life’s greatest blessing. Because no matter what happens it is your family that will stand by you through thick and thin. And that knowledge has made me a more confident person today.”

The actor is awaiting the release of his next, B Tech Babulu presently. Talking about his role in the film, Nandu says, “It’s an emotionally- driven character of a responsible young man, an idealistic person who runs into difficulties. The audience will empathise with him a lot.”
