Nandamuri Balakrishna is often praised for his high-energy action sequences and powerful dialogues. However, in the 1980s and 1990s, the actor explored a diverse range of roles. One of his most remarkable ventures from that era was the sci-fi classic 'Aditya 369'. Nearly 34 years after its initial release, 'Aditya 369' is making a grand return to theatres.

The film’s production team officially announced the re-release through a post on X (formerly Twitter), sharing the exciting news with fans. They shared an unmissable poster of the movie with the caption: “Bringing the first sci-fi of Indian cinema, ‘Aditya 369’, back to the big screens in 4K. This summer, let’s travel back in time to witness NBK’s timeless classic in theatres again.” However, the announcement did not specify a particular release date, only mentioning that it will have a re-release this summer.

On the poster, Nandamuri looks young and charming in a pink and golden outfit, portraying a king and warrior. Another poster features his different looks from the same movie.

Originally released in 1991, 'Aditya 369' also features Mohini, Tarun Kumar, Amrish Puri, and Tinnu Anand in pivotal roles. The film was conceptualised and directed by the legendary Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, while music maestro Ilaiyaraaja composed its soundtrack and background score. 'Aditya 369' is widely regarded as India’s first sci-fi film and is also considered the country’s first-ever time-travel movie.

The narrative revolves around a professor who invents a time machine, triggering a chain of events as Krishna, Hema, and Raja become entangled in a quest to seize control of the futuristic device. While the movie did not achieve blockbuster status upon its release, it was still a profitable venture.

On the work front, Balakrishna was recently seen in 'Daaku Maharaaj' alongside Urvashi Rautela. There are reports of Balakrishna collaborating with Boyapati Srinu once again for the much-anticipated sequel to 'Akhanda'.
