Veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni and Annapurna Studios have reacted to the ongoing issue between the Producers Guild and the Telangana Exhibitors Association. The studio released an official statement on social media and made its stand clear.

Production banner’s official statement

The statement said, “Annapurna Studios firmly stands by the interests of the film industry and wishes to clarify that Annapurna Studios Distribution will continue to abide by the decisions of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) and adhere to its guidelines.”The studio also added, “This has been our consistent practice over the years, and it will remain so in the future.”
The production banner owned by Nagarjuna is one of the biggest production and distribution companies in Telugu cinema.

Strong connection with film bodies

As per a Deccan Chronicle report, Annapurna Studios and its team are members of both the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and the Active Producers Guild. They have also supported talks related to reducing costs in the film industry. Because of this, the studio is trying to stay balanced during the ongoing issue between producers and exhibitors. It is also said that they are now planning to acquire more content-driven films and bring them to Telugu audiences in the coming months.
The production house also shares a long relationship with exhibitor and distributor Suniel Narang of Asian Cinemas. Due to this connection, the company is said to be handling the situation carefully without taking extreme sides. At the same time, it has become more active in film distribution. The company is releasing Tamil star Suriya’s film ‘Karuppu’ by the name ‘Veerabhadrudu’ in the Telugu states. The studio is also preparing to distribute the Kannada film ‘Bala The Boy’ in June.
