Naga Babu responds to SPB's comments on heroines

A war of words has ensued between legendary musician SP Balasubramanyam and actor-producer Naga Babu over the former’s statement on costumes of current day

. In an event organized by a private channel, S P Balasubramanyam had commented, “A heroine doesn't even have basic knowledge of what to wear and what not to wear for a public event. Are her revealing costumes meant to titillate the directors and actors at the venue? I don't care if any heroine is hurt by this statement. They need to realise they're public figures and have social responsibility.”

Naga Babu, who took offense to this comment, has targeted SPB without mentioning his name in a Youtube video. The actor had said, “What a heroine or a woman wears is her prerogative. Why should someone decide it for her? A man who sets out to molest/rape, doesn’t even care if she wears a sari or any revealing costume.” Interestingly though Naga Babu took a woman’s side in the argument, he had received more trolls than praises for his comment. However, several senior actresses and experts from the industry have stood by Naga Babu for this comment. Naga Babu was earlier in the news for his comments against actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna as well.
