The film focuses on the life of an income tax officer, who faces numerous challenges as he does his work against a powerful and intimidating villain. The movie is said to bring Ravi Teja back to his A Game, as his previous films 'Tiger Nageswara Rao' and 'Eagle' did not perform as well. Director Harish Shankar, speaking about his film, said that he did not experiment with the Ravi Teja starrer and just decided to give the audience what they expect from the actor. He added that the Telugu remake is a complete entertainer and will have no resemblance to the original 'Raid'.

Clashing at the box office with 'Double Ismart' in Telugu, 'Mr Bachchan' plays an important role in the careers of both Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar. For Harish Shankar, this film will mark a comeback as the director has quite a lineup in Telugu, and this film will be the basis for his upcoming projects.
