Touted to be a film on Lord Shiva’s ardent devotee Bhakta Kannappa, this most-ambitious project of Manchu Vishnu has been in the scripting and pre-production stage since the past few years. Mohan Babu himself mentioned that the writers’ team has been working on the script for nearly four years.

According to reports, popular actor-cum-writer Tanikella Bharani has penned the original script of Kannappa and waited for several years to convince the producers and take it onto floors. Sources claim that the thespian sold the script to Manchu Vishnu and the latter has recruited a team of writers to fine-tune the script. However, no official announcement has been made.

A few months ago, there were reports that Sunil will play the titular role in Kannappa and Tanikella Bharani would direct it. Now, with Mohan Babu himself confirming the project, hope Vishnu will make an official statement soon.
