Wondering who is that dressed up as Charlie Chaplin? Or, wait, is that someone dressed up as Hilter? Well, lets just say its a hitherto unseen
adah of one Miss Sharma. On what is International Mens day, this Tollywood diva decided to pay tribute to mankind posing in this Hitler meets Charlie Chaplin look to convey the message that in every man lurks a lovable entertainer like Chaplin and an insufferable fascist dictator like Hitler.
You wish. Men she was just fooling around. This is just something I tried in between my shoots, quips Adah smiling.
While shes clear about not having any fascination to look like a man, Adah would be be mighty pleased if you struggle to recognise her in this androgynous avatar. For she revels in her disguises even when not dabbing on grease paint to get into a role.
The actress, who is mostly confident, seemed slightly conscious about this picture though, not as confident as Kate Winslet might in an androgynous look. She insists we use prettier pictures of her as well. And we were only too happy to oblige. But, hey, we can cut her some slack because this lady, unlike most of her peers, is quite open to experiment. I am open to all kinds of things, looks, style, roles. I would even act as a man if I was offered a role where I had to, says the actress who is now content with dressing up as a man, or shall we say two men in one shot.
So we ask her if by some happenstance both Hitler and Charlie Chaplin asked her out how would she react. In most of his movies Charlie Chaplin is a silent actor, which makes me think he is generally a quiet guy. It would be nice to go out with a man for once who loves silence, so much peace of mind! But if Hilter asked me out, I think he would do so at gun point then I would have no choice but to say yes, says the actress after a extended pause. So its a yes to both of them!
This lady confesses to being a goofy girl and who loves doing acrobatic somersaults as much as she enjoys channelling her inner science geek by performing experiments that will remind you of 12th standard physics, or posing with a grasshopper on her head! There are so many different sides to her and she is ready to explore all of them with alacrity.
Maybe, that other side of Adah is news to people who only know her from her films because her uber stylish, quirky, fashionable persona does not see much expression in Tollywood films where shes playing the over the top glam doll. However, Adah likes to think that she tries. I did have somewhat of a boho chic look in heart attack and I have even used prosthetics for an upcoming film. I am even sporting red hair in one of the song sequences, says the actress to bolster her case.
She is certainly not one of those actresses who prefer to bring just their best angle for the camera. I dont take myself so seriously and I am not afraid of looking quirky and strange. People are too scared to experiment, even with their expressions and camera angles. But I am not like that, I dont mind contorting my face for a picture as I am super confident in my own skin and I really dont care what people say about me. I have posted so many no makeup selfies and snaps with dirty hair (laughs). I shall keep posting more and more pictures showcasing my inner madness!
Adah was never afraid to wear her quirks. She once went to a fancy dress competition wearing a hat with egg shells. However, beyond this strange and beautiful girl lurks a fashionista whose real hair type is unknown to the world.
Sometimes you spot her in red carpet events with long hair, at other times you see her with shoulder-length bob. Then again you see pictures of her with long, curly hair left loose. Ask her what exactly her real hair looks like and she will tell you, No one will ever know, I am not going to tell anyone. After all as she says again and again, in the sphere of entertainment it is all about illusion and maintaining that illusion.
