Master actor Arjun Das to make his debut in Telugu remake of Kappela co-starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda

It looks like it’s the season for remakes of Malayalam films in

because after films like

and Lucifer, it’s time for Kappela to be remade in Telugu.

However, despite rumours that Vishwak Sen will be starring in the remake, when in-fact he’s starring in the remake of Tamil film

, it’s

Siddhu

Jonnalagadda and Master actor Arjun Das who will reprise Roshan Mathew and Sreenath Bhasi’s roles in the film. It remains to be seen who will play Anna Ben’s role in the remake.

Director Trivikram Srinivas launched the film on Wednesday and the film is expected to go on-floors in August. Sharing the news, the filmmakers wrote, “Sithara Entertainments #ProductionNo9 featuring @Siddu_buoy & @iam_arjundas has formally launched today with a pooja ceremony. Our Darling Director #Trivikram garu graced the event & blessed the team! (sic)”

Debutant Shourie Chandrashekhar T Ramesh will take over as director from Muhammed Musthafa, who directed the original. Talking to

Hyderabad Times

previously, Siddhu had said, “I will act in the remake of Kappela soon, it’s an exciting film. I saw the original and I’m sure it’ll be successful here as well.”

Siddhu is currently shooting for

Narudi Brathuku Natana

in which he plays DJ Tillu. Neha Shetty plays the female lead in the Vimal Krishna directorial.
