Marathi actress Shruti Marathe to play Jr NTR’s wife in 'Devara: Part 1': Report

Jr NTR starrer ‘Devara: Part 1’ is set to release on September 27, and the buzz it has been creating ever since the announcement is immense. In an exciting update, Marathi actress Shruti Marathe has been confirmed to play Jr NTR's wife in the movie. Shruti, who has been part of the film industry since 2008, made her debut in Marathi cinema with ‘Sanai Choughade’ and has since worked in various languages, including Tamil and Hindi. The actress confirmed her role in the upcoming Jr NTR starrer while talking to Star Media Marathi. She has appeared in popular Marathi films like ‘Premasutra’ and ‘Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai 2’, as well as Tamil movies such as ‘Indira Vizha’ and ‘Guru Sishyan’. Shruti ventured into Hindi cinema in 2016 with ‘Budhia Singh – Born to Run’, alongside Manoj Bajpayee. She has also acted in Hindi films like ‘Wedding Anniversary’ and the recent ‘Munjya’, where she played a crucial role in a supernatural thriller.

She later made her mark in Hindi television with ‘Rudrakaal’ and the web series ‘Bard of Blood’, which featured Emraan Hashmi and Sobhita Dhulipala. Besides her work in films and TV, Shruti is also an accomplished theater artist.

Shruti has been married to Marathi actor and producer Gaurav Ghatnekar since 2016. Gaurav is known for films like ‘Tuesday’ and ‘Veergati’ and has starred alongside Shruti in ‘Tujhi Majhi Lovestory’.

‘Devara: Part 1’, directed by Koratala Siva, marks his second collaboration with Jr NTR. The movie boasts a stellar cast, including Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, and others in significant roles. The film's recently released poster, titled ‘The Faces Of Fear,’ showcases Jr NTR in a dual role.

Earlier this month, on Saif Ali Khan's birthday, a special teaser was released, featuring Saif in his menacing role as Bhaira, hinting at an intense face-off with Jr NTR's character.
