’ got unveiled this morning and going by the response, the 2-minute clip struck the right chord with the netizens owing to its hilarious dialogues, captivating narration, foreign locales and the superb casting of solid actors. Followed by the trailer release,

During the start itself, the Akkineni scion clarified that ‘Manmadhudu 2’ is indeed the official adaption of 2006 French
romantic-comedy
‘
Prête-moi ta main
’ (I Do or Rent a Wife). The 59-year-old actor stated that they have acquired the
remake
rights from Studio Canal and roped in Rahul Ravindran after watching his debut directorial ‘Chi Law Sow’.
According to the director-cum-actor, “Though we have lifted the core plot from the original, I wrote the screenplay from scratch and several characters have been added to suit our nativity.”
In recent times, Manmadhudu 2 is the second film after Oh Baby for which the concerned makers have purchased the remake rights from the original producers. Slated for a release on August 9, the film features
Rakul Preet Singh as the leading lady with cameos from
Samantha and Keerthy Suresh. Besides the lead pair, Vennela Kishore, senior actress Lakshmi, popular Tamil actress Devadarshini, Rao Ramesh and Jhansi will be seen in pivotal roles.
