Manjula Ghattamaneni's Manasuku Nachindi drives home a message - follow your heart
On her birthday actress-filmmaker Manjula Ghattamaneni began a new initiative,
Daughter of veteran actor Krishna and sister of superstar Mahesh Babu, Manjula tested her luck as an actress but failed to make in impression. She then turned producer to bankroll National Film Award winning film 'Show' and box-office hits like ‘
In a video released this morning, she said, “I dreamt big like any girl. I wanted to achieve a lot, but nothing really materialised. I wanted to be an actor, but couldn’t ever really be one. I tried many times, but like a broken record the same experience was representing itself again and again. So I moved on to producing films. Or did I? Not really. The desire to act was still very strong. It was one thing to be a failure but not given the opportunity itself was another thing altogether. I felt victimised. I thought it was because of my family my father’s fans, society.”
She then went on to explain how she overcame her failures by empowering herself. “Then I realised the real reason. It was me. I stopped myself. The minute I took responsibility. I felt so empowered and started to look within. That’s when I found my heart. I began to listen to the whispers of my heart. I could feel the creativity and bliss. I felt free for the first time in my life and my whole life changed,” she said.
Urging everyone to follow their hearts, she said, “I believe that every person has a purpose in life and a unique talent to fulfil that. I found mine, I followed my heart. I feel so happy. I feel so successful. It’s the journey, not the destination that matters, right?”
