For the uninitiated, Mamangam was a religious festival that was held once every twelve years at Thirynavya, on the banks of Bharatpuzha in Kerala. For 280 years, fierce battles were waged by a few men against the mighty king during the festival and the film will showcase the story of one such unknown hero. Set in 1695, Mamangam will showcase action sequences featuring Kalaripayattu – the oldest Indian martial art, choreographed by Sham Kaushal.
With music by M Jayachandran and BGM by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara, ‘Mamangam’ also stars Unni Mukundan, Prachi Tehlan, Siddique, Achuthan, Anusitara, Iniya, Kaniha, Tarun Arora, Suresh Krishna, Manikuttan, Sudev Nair and Manikandan in key roles. Further details are awaited.
