Actress Malavika Mohanan who was last seen in the Hindi film 'Yudhra', recently opened up about missing an opportunity to work with the Rebel star Prabhas in the 2023 hit 'Salaar'. She shared her experience when director Prashanth Neel wanted to meet her for the role.
During a conversation with CurlyTales, she shared that after falling in love with the phenomenal 'Baabubali' film series, she always wanted to work with Prabhas. She said, "I'm a huge Baahubali fan, and I love both Baahubali 1 and 2. Since then it was in my mind that I wanted to do a movie with Prabhas. When Salaar was happening, the director Prasanth Neel wanted to meet with me cause he wanted me in the film. However, for some reason, it didn't work out."
'Salaar' would have been the actress's Telugu debut.
Despite this, fate had some different plans for Malavika. Just a few months later, she received a call for 'The Raja Saab', another film starring Prabhas. She described this as a fortunate moment, feeling that the universe was guiding her towards her Telugu debut alongside the superstar.

'The Raja Saab' is a unique blend of horror, romance, and comedy, where Prabhas will be seen in a different role from his previous hits such as 'Kalki 2898 AD', 'Salaar', 'Saaho' and more. Directed by Maruthi, the film is expected to showcase extensive VFX and will feature Prabhas in dual roles. Nidhhi Agerwal also stars alongside him.
The film is announced to be released on April 10, 2025.
