Malavika Mohanan opens up about working with ‘Varansi’ director SS Rajamouli: says, ‘he writes strong female characters’
Actress Malavika Mohanan was recently seen in Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’ playing the role of Bhairavi. The actress has who has been part of multiple South Indian projects recently, shared her desire to work with SS Rajamouli, as he portrays strong female characters. She also revealed female filmmakers she would love to join hands with in Hindi cinema.
Malavika Mohanan made her Bollywood debut in ‘Beyond the Clouds’ in 2017 and was also seen in the action thriller ‘Yudhra’ released in 2024.
Dream roles rooted in history and mythology
During a conversation with India Today, she mentioned her desire to work with a certain filmmaker and play certain roles on screen. She also named the director and filmmakers she would love to collaborate with. She expressed working ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’ director SS Rajamouli as he writes strong characters. “I would love to work with Rajamouli sir, not just because he makes big films, but because he writes strong female characters. Additionally, she named the female director from Bollywood, whom she would love to collaborate with, including Zoya Akhtar, Gauri Shinde, and Kiran Rao. Sharing her appreciation for the Kiran Rao directorial, she said, “‘Laapataa Ladies’ was such a beautifully made film.
