A truly deserving victory: Mahi V Raghav, announcing Yatra 2

Mahi V Raghav’s YSR biopic ‘Yatra’ released in February this year with Mammootty in the lead role. The film, despite its mixed critical response, was received well and much-loved by movie buffs. Now, with elections results trickling through on Thursday and YSRCP leading the results, Mahi V Raghav shared a picture with Jagan on his social media, congratulating him on his victory. He wrote, “Congratulations to @ysjagan @YSRCParty. Anna a truly deserving victory. As promised Hope you deliver more than Y S Rajasekhar Reddy Garu.” (sic) However, what surprised fans was his announcement that he will also be canning a sequel to ‘Yatra’. Calling Jagan’s story ‘one worth telling’, he wrote, “You have a written and made story worth telling.. :)#yatra2 @ShivaMeka.” (sic) When contacted by Hyderabad Times, director Mahi confirmed that a ‘Yatra 2’ is being planned. “Most likely in 2022/2023,” he said, talking about its release. Further details of the film are awaited.
