Outspoken film critic
Mahesh Kathi, who’s been at loggerheads with fans of
Pawan Kalyan, has now come under an ‘egg attack’ from the Powerstar’s fans. Late on Thursday, miscreants threw eggs at Kathi just as he was getting out of his vehicle at Hyderabad’s Kondapur area. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
A furious Kathi later lashed out at Pawan Kalyan for failing to rein in his fans and vowed to lodge an official complaint against the miscreants.
“Pawan Kalyan must take responsibility for this and apologise to me. How can he claim to be a leader if he cannot even come out in public and solve a matter like this? A true leader must be available at all times,” Kathi said.
The embattled film critic later went on to post on social media, in the early hours of Friday. “Survived the attack.I am safe. Will be registering a police complaint today (sic),” he posted.
Hyderabad Times accessed a copy of the complaint registered by Kathi, in which he alleges that the attack on him was orchestrated by Pawan Kalyan fans.
" I have strong reason to believe the attack is by Pawan Kalyan fans. As the ongoing issue between actor Pawan Kalyan's fans and me has been escalating on scoial media and media. Fromt he past four months, I have been receiving threatening calls from them and recently at press club, they tried to attack me as well," Kathi stated in the letter.
