Mahesh Babu's wife Namrata Shirodkar shares excitement for 'Mufasa: The Lion King': "A family movie that everyone can enjoy"

Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu is set to return to the big screens with his voice, this time as the voice of Mufasa in the Telugu version of the highly anticipated animated film, 'Mufasa: The Lion King'. The film is set for a theatrical release on December 20th, 2024. Recently during a media event Mahesh Babu was unable to attend, his wife, former actress and model Namrata Shirodkar, represented him and expressed the enthusiasm of the project.

As per a Gulte report, Mahesh Babu was not able to attend the event, however, his wife Namrata took his place. She shared her disappointment that the 'Pokiri' actor couldn't be present but thanked Disney and the maker for bringing this beloved story to life, looking forward to the release.

Namrata also said, "I've always loved Disney films, especially The Lion King. Seeing Mufasa come to life on screen is truly heartwarming. It’s a family movie that everyone can enjoy. The emotional journey it takes you on is something I’m excited for all of you to experience."

Namrata also revealed that while Mahesh typically isn’t fond of dubbing for films, he thoroughly enjoyed the process of voicing Mufasa.

"Mahesh isn’t particularly fond of dubbing for his films, but he really loved the process of dubbing for Mufasa," she said.

'Mufasa: The Lion King' will explore the origin story of the iconic character from the beloved franchise, focusing on Mufasa's rise to king and his journey through challenges. The film is expected to deliver stunning visuals.

The Telugu version features a talented cast including Brahmanandam as Pumbaa and Ali as Timon.

On the other hand, in the Hindi version of the film, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan voices Mufasa, while his sons Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan lend their voices to Simba and young Mufasa, respectively.
