Mahesh Babu to collaborate with Buchi Babu Sana after completing SS Rajamouli's 'SSMB29'- Report

Mahesh Babu is making headlines for his upcoming collaboration with SS Rajamouli for the tentatively titled film 'SSMB29'. While the makers have kept all details about the movie under wraps, new reports are now circulating online regarding Mahesh’s next project after completing his commitment with Rajamouli. He is reportedly collaborating with Buchi Babu Sana, known for the National Award-winning film 'Uppena'.

According to Telugu Chitraalu, Mahesh is being considered for a major new venture with Buchi Babu Sana. The project, however, is still in its early stages. As of now, Buchi Babu is busy working on 'Peddi', a sports drama starring Ram Charan, and any formal collaboration with Mahesh will reportedly proceed only once both parties have fulfilled their current engagements.



The report indicates that Buchi Babu has a story concept he wishes to present to Mahesh Babu at the appropriate time. Buchi Babu served as an assistant director on Mahesh’s 2014 film '1: Nenokkadine'. Despite the buzz, no official confirmation has been made.


Ram Charan'a Peddi
Meanwhile, Buchi Babu’s 'Peddi', which stars Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, is nearing the end of its filming schedule. The film casts Ram Charan in a dual sporting avatar, involving both cricket and wrestling. The actor has reportedly undergone intensive training to authentically portray both disciplines.

'Peddi' is slated for a big-screen release on March 26, 2027 and boasts a musical score by the legendary A.R. Rahman. Shiva Rajkumar and Divyendu will also play key roles in the film.

On the other hand, Mahesh Babu's 'SSMB29' is expected to feature Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in prominent roles. Described as a globe-trotting adventure with high production values, 'SSMB29' is targeting a theatrical release in 2026, with music composed by MM Keeravani.
