Locals from village in Siddipet make a temple for Sonu Sood

The humanitarian works carried out by actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood amid the Covid-19
pandemic has earned him monikers like ‘Messiah of the Migrants’ and ‘Hero of the underprivileged’.
But for the villagers of

Dubba Tanda

in Siddipet, the actor is no less than a god, quite literally. So
much so, they got together with the Siddipet district authorities in Telangana and constructed a
temple in Sonu Sood’s honour.
The temple, which has an idol of the Alludu Adhurs star, was inaugurated on Sunday in the presence
of the sculptor and villagers. An aarti was performed, while women, dressed in traditional attires,
sang folk songs.

member, said, “Sonu Sood has done a lot of work during the
pandemic and has has attained the place of god by his good deeds. Hence, we have built a temple
for him. He is a god for us.”
Ramesh Kumar, who was part of a group that planned the temple, said, “The way Sonu Sood has
been helping people since the lockdown due to the pandemic has not just been recognised by India
but the world. So, on behalf of our village, we decided to build a temple for him. Since his actions
have made him god like, pujas will be offered to honur him.”
Madhusudan Pal, the sculptor, is elated to have made the idol of Sonu Sood. “The actor has made a
place in people’s hearts with his helpful nature. I have also created this small idol of him as a gift for
him,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sonu Sood was overwhelmed to hear of this development and said it was an honour
that he’s not worthy of. Speaking to

, Sonu Sood said, “This is an extremely
overwhelming moment. But having said that, I feel that I don’t deserve this. I’m just a common man
who has helped his brothers and sisters.” The actor added that he was looking forward to going and
visiting the temple in-person soon. “I would love to go and visit the temple. I plan to go soon and
with folded hands, I will humbly thank the villagers for the love and respect they have shown
towards me,” Sonu said.
