Likhita gave me hope and made me believe in love again: Samrat Reddy

The lockdown proved to be a blessing for actor Samrat Reddy, as it brought his way a fresh chance at finding love. The Bigg Boss fame actor tied the knot with Kakinada girl Anjana Sri Likhita in an intimate ceremony in Kakinada on November 4. A software engineer, Anjana met Samrat through mutual friends and the duo gradually fell in love during the lockdown. “We’ve actually known each other for a year-and-a-half now. Over the course of the pandemic and the lockdown, our relationship slowly progressed from friendship to love. Her positivity is infectious and I just wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I’m so thrilled we’re married now,” says Samrat, beaming.Samrat was earlier married to Harshitha Reddy but the couple parted ways after three years of marriage in 2018, due to personal differences. The W/o Ram actor is on cloud 9 to have found love again. “Despite the traumatic way in which my first marriage ended, I was sure that there is someone special out there for me. I was going through a lot after my divorce but meeting Likhita made me believe in love again. She gave me hope and more importantly, she brought me immense happiness,” the actor shares. Even after deciding to get married, Samrat and Likhita had to face several challenges before having the wedding of their dreams. “It took some time to convince our families. They were initially sceptical, but we stayed strong and finally made them realise that we’re the perfect fit for each other,” says Samrat, adding, “We were initially planning to get hitched on August 8 but just before the wedding, my family and I tested positive for Covid-19, so we had to postpone the wedding.” On Wednesday, Samrat and Likhita finally tied the knot in a traditional Telugu ceremony on Kakinada. The wedding was attended by around 60 people, including Samrat’s sister Shilpa Reddy and Bigg Boss housemates Deepthi Sunaina and Tanish Alladi. “I am glad everyone we loved, including some elderly members from the family made this trip to be with us on our special day. All the ceremonies were held as per our traditional rituals and my nephew Dheva had great fun as my thodu pelli koduku. It was a bit strange to see everyone wearing masks at the wedding but Likhita and I are officially married now and that’s all that matters,” he says adding, “After the wedding, we flew back to Hyderabad and had a Satyanarayana Vratam at home on Friday morning and a small party for my friends in the evening. I can’t wait to start the next chapter of my life with Likhita.”
