Lavanya Tripathi hits back at journalist over criticism of Chiranjeevi after Ram Charan’s twins’ birth: 'Very few men can do...'
Lavanya Tripathi has come out in strong support of her father-in-law, Telugu cinema legend Chiranjeevi, after a journalist criticised him over an old remark that resurfaced following the birth of Ram Charan and Upasana’s twins. While the comment once again became a talking point on social media, Lavanya chose to address the criticism head-on.
Lavanya calls out criticism as unfair
Responding on X, Lavanya made it clear that she found the tweet objectionable and insensitive. In her reply, she wrote, “I usually ignore tweets like this and let them pass on my timeline, but I didn’t expect it from you. This tweet is in extremely poor taste, turning a genuinely happy moment into something unpleasant. You clearly don’t know how he treats the women in his family, especially his granddaughters. Very few men can do even 1% of what he does, so it’s best not to comment on people you don’t truly know :)”Why the old remark resurfaced
The criticism traces back to an earlier comment by Chiranjeevi, in which he jokingly described himself as the warden of a ‘ladies’ hostel’, referring to being a grandfather to four girls. The remark resurfaced online after Ram Charan and Upasana announced the birth of their twins, triggering fresh debate and mixed reactions.Ram Charan and Upasana share joyful news
On February 1, Ram Charan and Upasana shared a heartfelt Instagram post announcing the arrival of their twins. The photo, taken shortly before the delivery, showed the Peddi star standing beside Upasana as she cradled her baby bump, with their pet dogs completing the frame. Along with the picture, the couple wrote, “Happy to share that we have been blessed with a baby boy & girl. Having two daughters and a son fills us with immense gratitude. The women in our life have been our greatest strength. I’m very thankful to all our fans, family, and well-wishers who have stood by us and supported us through every moment.”A look at the couple’s journey
Ram Charan and Upasana tied the knot in June 2012 after getting engaged in December 2011. They welcomed their first child, daughter Klin Kaara, in June 2023. Speculation around Upasana’s second pregnancy had begun around Diwali 2025 and was later officially confirmed by the family.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”end of article
