The Balakrishna and Manchu Manoj-starrer, 'Uoo Kodathara Ulukki Padathara' is all set to hit the screen soon. And producer Lakshmi Manchu says work is on in full swing to make this socio-fantasy film a convincing one. 'We erected a huge Gandharva Mahal set, where most of the film is shot. Around 300 people worked on this set for almost a year. Nearly 2,50,000 tonnes of iron were used.
The paintings and artefacts were bought from from Chilakaluripeta, near Guntur. We used Kalamkari paintings too,' she says.
Lakshmi Manchu, who is also acting in this movie, will be sporting rare, original jewellery, worth more than Rs10 lakhs. 'The special Uppada sari I wear is designed by my mom, Nirmala,' says the actress, who reports to the sets early in the morning everyday for the extensive make-up session.
'We thought we will do a three-day shoot, but it has extended to nearly a month now,' says Lakshmi, showing us the cuts on her hand caused by the heavy jewellery. 'I have learnt discipline from my father, who was always punctual and dedicated. Manoj too is working hard for this film. This might just be his big break,' she says.
Talking about Balakrishna's role in the film, Lakshmi, adds, 'When we narrated the story to him, he eagerly accepted to play this character.'
Deeksha Seth, Panchi Bora and Simer Motwani are the movie's female leads.
