Lakshmi Manchu is glad to be in India at this time. The daughter of veteran actor
Mohan Babu shares a peek into what her plans are like and why the festivals of
Dhanteras and
Diwali are so special to her. She says, "Dhanteras is a festival that I get so excited about as I buy some jewellery at this time. Ever since I moved back to India from the US, even if its not a big piece of jewellery, I at least buy a tiny gold coin, just for the remembrance of it.
It is either a gold coin or earrings for my daughter Nirvana, something that I can remember I bought at this time.
'My Diwali outfit is pretty, it’s going to be in pastels' From among the past, any pieces of jewellery that matter the most to her? She says, “Well, I have many pieces that are my favourite, but one particular piece ]is from one of my favourite stores. It is a delicate diamond necklace that I can wear from day to night, so it’s special for me.” Lakshmi also shares what her Diwali outfit is going to be like. “It’s very pretty and it’s going to be in pastels. I always wear bright colours, but this time I am looking forward to wearing pastels.”
Her fave mithai? Boondi laddoo! The festival is also a time for indulgences, so we have no doubt she will be tucking into traditional sweets. Any mithai that she loves the most? She states, “Well, at Diwali it’s so tough to decide one over the other and my house is already filled with so many kinds of mithais. I plan to have a whole table for my party and have these different kinds of mithais on it. My mom and dad are making some special Andhra sweets as well, so for my party I will be looking forward to having authentic sweets. But my favourite is the boondi laddoo, I love that,” she adds.
