Kirrak Party: Five reasons why you should watch Nikhil Siddhartha, Simran Pareenja and Samyuktha Hegde starrer

The campus film ‘Kirrak Party’ releases on March 16 and the promotions themselves have gotten movie-goers excited about the film. Directed by Sharan Koppisetty and starring Nikhil Siddhartha, Simran Pareenja and Samyuktha Hegde in lead roles, the film is a remake of the hit Kannada film ‘Kirik Party’. The film features seven songs composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath who composed the film’s music for the Kannada original as well. While we’re sure you’ve already made up your mind as to why you should watch ‘Kirrak Party’, we give you five reasons why:
Nikhil Siddhartha’s acting chopsStarting out as an assistant director for ‘Hyderabad Nawaabs’, Nikhil made his acting debut with Sekhar Kammula’s campus film ‘Happy Days’ that catapulted Tamannah into stardom. Now 11 years later, Nikhil is back to a campus film with ‘Kirrak Party’ and expectations are high on this one. Through the years, Nikhil has made a mark in the industry by choosing off-beat films like ‘Swamy Ra Ra’ and ‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada’ and playing quirky characters with elan. So it’s only safe to assume his character in this film will be memorable too.

Fresh talentBarring Nikhil and a few other artistes and crew members, the whole cast and crew of ‘Kirrak Party’ are fresh faces looking to chart out their career in the film industry. Seeing as how films made by debutants are doing well these days, ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Awe’ being good examples, it is only natural that movie-lovers expect magic from debutant Sharan Koppisetty too. Especially seeing as how, the director has claimed to have made the material his own and made changes to key scenes in the film.

The screenplay and dialogues‘Swamy Ra Ra’ director Sudheer Varma wrote the screenplay for ‘Kirrak Party’ and ‘Premam’ director Chandoo Mondeti wrote the dialogues. While Sharan Koppisetty might be new to the industry both Sudheer and Chandoo have already proved their mettle in the industry. While Risabh Shetty, the director of ‘Kirik Party’ is still credited for the story, just like ‘Premam’, the duo must’ve made changes to suit the taste of the audience, bringing in some Telugu flavour.

The college vibesDespite being touted as a comedy romantic drama, above all, ‘Kirrak Party’ is a campus film. Be it the posters or any another promotional material released, the focus seems to be purely on the campus and the journey of these engineering students. So those who love campus dramas are bound to love this film too, as the director is said to have taken inspiration from real life to make it more authentic.

The storyThe story of ‘Kirrak Party’ seems intriguing and seems to see Nikhil is different avatars, a la Nivin Pauly/Naga Chaitanya in ‘Premam’. The film is said to be a coming-of-age film charting the journey of various characters from their first year till last. While Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Happy Days’ managed to bring along that feel well, ‘Kirrak Party’ seems to be more intense in its subject, dealing with campus elections and more.
