There is no major difference between regional language movies and Bollywood films these days. Actors are now crossing borders between the north and south to dilute the distinction of regional languages. Bollywood actors are taking roles in South Indian movies, and vice versa. Bollywood actress Rashmika Mandanna recently paired up with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film ‘Animal.’

From Deepika Padukone to Janhvi Kapoor, actors are set to collaborate with leading stars in Tamil and Telugu cinema. The upcoming December and 2024 are poised to be a significant period for experimental pairings in the Indian film industry. ​Ram Charan and Kiara Advani

'Game Changer' is an upcoming Telugu-language political action thriller directed by S. Shankar, marking his debut in Telugu cinema. The film is written by Karthik Subbaraj and features Ram Charan in the lead role, heading an impressive ensemble cast that includes Kiara Advani, Anjali, SJ Suryah, Jayaram, Sunil, Srikanth, Samuthirakani, and Nassar. The movie's production spanned various locations, including Hyderabad, New Zealand, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Visakhapatnam, and Punjab. The official title was revealed on March 27, 2023, coinciding with Ram Charan's birthday. The film's music is composed by Thaman S, known for his impactful scores, and the cinematography is handled by Tirru, promising a visually compelling experience for the audience.

Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor

Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor are set to ignite the screens with their upcoming film, 'Devara Part 1.' Directed and written by Koratala Siva, this action drama is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 5th, 2024. Notably, this marks Janhvi Kapoor's debut in South Indian cinema, paying homage to her late mother Sridevi's connections in Tamil and Telugu cinema. In the film, Janhvi Kapoor takes on the role of Thangam and recently unveiled her first look, resonating with the film's aesthetic.'Devara' also introduces Saif Ali Khan to Telugu cinema as he plays the primary antagonist in the movie, adding an extra layer of excitement to the project.

​Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi


Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi are set to share the screen in the upcoming film 'Merry Christmas,' slated for release on January 12th next year. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, known for helming 'Andhadhun,' the bilingual Tamil/Hindi film was shot simultaneously in both languages. Production commenced in December 2021 and wrapped up in January, featuring music from the renowned composer Pritam. The film, from early glimpses, appears to revolve around a murder mystery, adding an element of intrigue. It will be interesting to witness the collaboration of stars with distinct acting styles like Kaif and Sethupathi in their first joint project. 'Kanguva,' one of Tamil cinema's most high-budget ventures, stars Suriya alongside Bollywood actress Disha Patani, directed by Siruthai fame Siva. 'Kalki 2898 AD' stars Prabhas in a groundbreaking science-fiction dystopian film, written and directed by Nag Ashwin.
