Kartikeya Gummakonda to play an NIA officer in his next

After playing everything from a hurting lover to a psychotic race-car driver, Kartikeya Gummakonda is gearing up to play an

NIA officer

in his next.

One thing that

Kartikeya

cannot be accused of in his short career is of repeating himself. Irrespective of the fate of his films, the actor has always tried his best to pick scripts and roles that are different from what he has already done before. So after playing a man who suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome in his last film 90 ML, the actor is ready to play an officer from the National Investigation Agency in his next. In the look released by the film's team, he can be seen sporting a beard and dressed in pastels.

Directed by debutant director Sri Saripalli, the film will be produced by 88 Ramareddy under the Sree Chitra Movie Makers banner. Tanya Ravichandran of Karuppan fame will play the female lead in this film. The film’s announcement was made ahead of Kartikeya’s

birthday

on September 21 and more updates are expected today. Director Sri Saripalli says, “The concept of the film is unique and Kartikeya enjoyed the narration so much, he immediately said yes. I’m happy he’s on board for my debut film.” The yet-to-be-titled film will see music by

Prashant R Vihari

.

Apart from this, Kartikeya will also soon be seen in debutant director Koushik Pegallapati’s

Chaavu Kaburu Challaga

in which he plays the massy Basti Balaraju. The film will see Lavanya Tripathi as the female lead and updates from this film’s team are also expected today. Kartikeya also hinted a few days ago that he will resume

shoot

soon, so further details are awaited.
