Tollywood has lost yet another gem today. Veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana, fondly know as 'Navarasa Natana Sarvabhouma' passed away on December 23 at around 4 a.m., in Hyderabad. He was 87. Tributes from several celebrities are pouring in on internet. The ace actor is survived by his wife Nageswaramma, two daughters and two sons. Kaikala’s last rites will be performed tomorrow evening at Mahaprasthanam crematorium, Hyderabad.
His mortal remains will be kept at his residence in Film Nagar for family, friends and fans to pay their last respects.
Many A-listers from the Telugu film industry and other entertainment industries from the South took to social media to pay tribute to the versatile actor and pay condolences to his family members on their loss.
Popular Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu felt saddened to know about the development. H wrote, ''Extremely saddened by the passing away of #KaikalaSatyanarayana garu. I have some very fond memories of working with him. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.''
Ram Charan acknowledged the development with a heavy heart. He tweeted, ''Deeply saddened to hear the demise of Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu..His contribution to our film industry will be remembered forever !! May his soul rest in peace.''
Born on July 25, 1935 in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, Satyanarayana debuted with Telugu movie 'Sipai Koothuru' in 1959. Satyanarayana went on to act in around 800 movies in a career spanning six decades. Although he excelled as the quintessential bad man in the movies, he was also feted for his portrayal of mythological characters, especially Lord Yama, the Hindu god of death. He last appeared in 2019 Mahesh Babu starrer 'Maharshi'. He won Lok Sabha polls from Machilipatnam in 1996.
