Following his string of tweets accusing various heads of media channels of being involved in a conspiracy to malign him, a police complaint was lodged against actor-politician
Pawan Kalyan at the Banjara Hills Police Station on Thursday. The complainant, Gundelly Mondaiah, a member of the Telangana Union of Working Journalists, has alleged that Pawan Kalyan and his followers used forged electronic record to cheat and harm the reputation of journalists.
In his complaint, the journalist stated that the
Jana Sena founder had put up doctored video of an actress using an expletive against him and alleged that it was aired by a television channel. The complainant reasoned that the TV channel in question had beeped the expletive and that Pawan Kalyan had uploaded a doctored video with the sole purpose of maligning the channel and other journalists.
“I request you to take immediate stringent action against the culprits, Mr. Pawan Kalyan, President Jana Sena Party, his trolls, followers and Jana Sena activists who conspired together and committed forgery for purpose of cheating, harming the reputation and using forged electronic record as genuine for the purpose of cheating and harming the reputation of journalists in general," the complaint read.
Meanwhile, another Telugu news channel has also filed a complaint against the actor-politician for “intentionally targeting the media outlet with 'forged' evidence.”
“He had posted a 'forged' video clip of actress Sri Reddy abusing him from his Twitter handle. The channel had muted the video and telecast it,” the complainant stated.
