John Vijay, who has played mostly negative roles in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films, faces harassment accusations from several women. Singer Chinmayi Sripaada, who received the complaints, shared screenshots on her X account with a detailed note about their bad experiences.

Recently, while reporting on sexual misconduct in Malayalam cinema involving Dileep's 2017 case, a Newsminute journalist claimed John Vijay made inappropriate advances while she was waiting for an interview.

Following this, Chinmayi shared screenshots from women accusing the actor of making them feel uncomfortable at workplaces, pubs, and restaurants. One journalist also alleged inappropriate behavior by Vijay. Chinmayi wrote, “After The Newsminute report mentioned John Vijay’s misconduct with the journalist, other women are speaking about his general behavior. More women have come forward since the post, including one who interviewed him on camera.”

During the #MeToo movement in 2018, John Vijay faced multiple accusations. VJ, RJ, and singer Sriranjani called him out for his behaviour. Chinmayi thanked Sriranjani for speaking up, saying, “Thank you, Sriranjini, for sharing your story. I also received three other accounts about John Vijay. Stay strong, girls. Speak up, even if he is friends with your dad.”

John Vijay has not yet responded to the latest allegations. In 2018, he spoke to Firstpost and apologized for his behavior. He expressed that he considers himself a transparent person who speaks openly without hidden motives. He acknowledged that his jokes might not always be well-received and could be perceived as insensitive. When he realizes that someone does not appreciate his humor or share his perspective, he chooses to disengage from the conversation.

John further stated that he does not recall the incidents mentioned on Twitter and has never met the accusers alone or asked them out. He expressed deep regret if his comments, which he intended to be humorous, hurt anyone. He views this experience as a lesson and expressed his support for the #MeToo movement, noting that he would have been among the first to voice support if he hadn't been accused.

John Vijay was last seen in Prabhas' starrer ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’.
