Going by the one-minute-long teaser, Sharwanand has tried to match up to the brilliance of Vijay Sethupathi and has managed to succeed for the most part. Samantha's expressions are on point, and she has done a commendable job in getting into the skin of the character, which was originally essayed by Trisha Krishnan. The music and the cinematography remind us of the original flick. As far as the teaser goes, Jaanu looks like a frame-to-frame remake of 96, with minor changes to suit the sensibilities of Telugu audience.
