The upcoming
romantic entertainer Jaanu
, which features
Sharwanand and Samantha
in lead roles, has got a release date. The film will hit the silver screens on
February 7
. Directed by
C Prem Kumar
, this film is an official remake of Tamil hit film 96, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan.
On Tuesday, Sharwanand took to his Instagram account and announced the film’s release date along with a beautiful still.

Produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film went on to the floors from July 2019 and was wrapped up in October 2019. It was shot in Kenya, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. The makers dropped the first look of their project last month, where Sharwanand was seen in the middle of a desert. Sharwa plays a
wildlife photographer
in the film, and as mentioned earlier, the film will be brimming with some feel-good romantic sequences.
Jaanu is the story of two high-school sweethearts meeting again after years during a school reunion and reminiscing of their time together. The
teaser of Jaanu
met with the tremendous response both from fans of the stars, and the theatrical trailer will be unveiled on January 29. Tamil version’s music director Govind Vasantha has been retained for Jaanu. Mahendran Jayaraju N has handled the camera while Praveen K L will edit the film.
