It's Julie, once more!
Actor Unni Mukundan is thrilled to be part of the new Chattakkari, the film that set the ground for yesteryears hit - Julie
When actor Unni Mukundan hummed Dil Kya Kare from yesteryears hit Julie with much passion during his school days, little did he know that one day, he would be playing the hero in the film's new millennium remake!
The actor, who made an impressive debut through the Mamootty-starrer Bombay March 12, is excited about starring in the remake of the Malayalam original of Julie Chattakkari.

The latest one also features actor Nithya Menen enacting the role that was once played by actor Lakshmi.
"I'm thrilled to be associated with the project. I haven't seen the film Chattakkari, but I've watched Julie a couple of times. And getting to play the lead in the remake of such a film is something," says Unni, who will be seen enacting the character that Mohan played in Chattakkari. He shies away when asked if he is aware how sensuous a role his will be. "Well, well," he gushes. "Let's see how it turns out!"
Producer Suresh Kumar, who seems to have a thing for remakes (Lal Jose's Neelathamara and T K Rajeev Kumar's Rathinirvedam were his contributions to the remakes galore) will produce the Chattakari remake, too. The film is rumoured to be directed by Santhosh Sethumadhavan, son of K T Sethumadhavan who directed the original. The actor, who debuted in tinseltown with Seedan (the Tamil version of Nandanam), is now shooting for T K Rajeev Kumar's Talsamayam Oru Penkutty, in which Nithya Menen plays his heroine yet another time. As of now, the shooting is proceeding uninterrupted, irrespective of the ban slapped on the actor by the Kerala Film Producers Association.
Unni, on his part, is looking forward to the release of the film where he plays a plum role. Strange enough, he won't talk about his upcoming films. "That's because I work in an industry where one cannot boast of the films in one's kitty unless they are finally released in the theatres!"
