Indian Navy Day: Mahesh Babu salutes Navy personnel for unwavering courage and service to the nation

Navy Day is annually celebrated on December 4 to commemorate the attack of Operation Trident on the Karachi harbour during the India-Pakistan war in 1971. On this very day in 1971, a squadron of Osa-I missile-boats stealthily approached the Karachi harbour and joining forces with two Petya class Frigates, they launched a barrage of guided-missiles which sank four Pakistan vessels and blockaded the port of Karachi.
To mark the magnificent display of valour by the Indian Navy and remember the personnel who martyred in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Navy Day in India is celebrated on December 4 every year. The theme of 2020 Indian Navy Day is “Indian Navy Combat Ready, Credible & Cohesive.”
On the special occasion, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu took to social media and saluted the Navy personnel for their unwavering courage and service to the nation. He wrote on his social handle “Standing in honour!! Saluting our Navy personnel on the occasion of Indian Navy Day today! India will always be grateful for your unwavering courage and service to the nation.”

The first schedule of the commercial entertainer is likely to kick-off in the United States and the makers are reportedly sorting out the logistics. While ‘Mahanati’ fame Keerthy Suresh is playing the leading lady, the plot of the film reportedly revolves around financial frauds in the banking sector. Speculations are rife that the protagonist will be seen playing dual roles - that of a pawn broker and bank officer.
