Versatile filmmaker
Krishna Vamsi is wielding the megaphone after a gap of two long years. Totally impressed by Marathi blockbuster Natsamrat, the 57-year-old director is remaking the film in Telugu as Ranga Marthanda. Starring seasoned actors like
Prakash Raj and
Ramya Krishnan in lead roles, the shooting of the film has recently kicked-off in the port city of Visakhapatnam. Anasuya Bharadwaj, Shivatmika Rajasekhar and Rahul Sipligunj are essaying supporting roles in the film.
Meanwhile, it’s already known that Krishna Vamsi is joining hands with maestro
Ilaiyaraaja for Ranga Marthanda after a gap of two decades. The duo has previously worked for Anthapuram in 1998 and all the songs have turned out to become chartbusters.
While the first schedule of the film has been wrapped up, Krishna Vamsi flew down to Chennai to take part in the music sittings with Ilaiyaraaja. Taking to Twitter, the creative director shared that the 76-year-old legendary musician has composed two heavenly tunes for Ranga Marthanda in just 10 minutes. Vamsi also revealed that the maestro appreciated the song situations in the film.
Starring the versatile
Nana Patekar in the titular role, Natsamrat is a heart-touching drama that depicts the tragic family life of a stage actor who has retired from acting but is unable to forget his fond memories of the theatre.
