GR Krishna's
Raj Tarun and
Shalini Pandey starrer 'Iddari Lokam Okate' hit screens this Christmas amid less fanfare.
The film, which sees music by Mickey J Meyer, tells the story of a photographer Mahi (Raj Tarun) who was born on the same day, at the same hospital in Ooty as Varsha (Shalini Pandey), a wannabe actress. Meeting at various stages of their lives, Mahi and Varsha seem to have a good effect on each other.
Except, there's Varsha's fiance Rahul (Raja Chembolu) who doesn't understand her ambition and a secret Mahi seems to be hiding that might come between them. Will they be able to make it?
The first half of the film is a super-slow ride with strange camera angle and editing choices. 'Iddari Lokam Okate' takes its own sweet time setting up the characters and the series of events that brought them where they are today. This to-and-fro between the past and the present doesn't always seamlessly work, despite the makers telling a not often told take. There's even a nod to 'Geethanjali' but with the film largely remaining predictable, it remains to be seen how the second half will fare.
