Arjun Sai, who worked as a writer for the popular comedy show, Jabardasth is all set to make his directorial debut with a
bilingual film
that highlights the
importance of theatre in society
. He also worked as a ghostwriter for several hit
Telugu films. About to make his debut as a director in the Telugu film industry with the soon-to-release movie, which is not yet titled, Arjun decided that he would give his debut everything that he has.
When asked about how his tryst with filmmaking happens, he said, ''I was always interested in writing and films, for me, seemed like a natural progression. I’ve developed scripts for 200 episodes to Jabardasth. After that, I worked under RR Movie Makers on several projects. I assisted director Krishna Vamsi on Nakshatram. After gaining a noteworthy amount of work experience, I wanted to venture into filmmaking.’’
The filmmaker set out to capture the realities of the theatre world, in an effort to raise awareness of the importance of performing art and theatre impact on society. ''The entire film is about drama, theatre and the performing arts, which would gradually become obsolete. With my film, I wanted to portray why the performing arts are still essential to modern society and how they help to develop a healthy appreciation of
culture and arts
. I believe in the power of cinema as a tool to inspire revolution, and hope it brings real lasting change,” Arjun Sai says candidly.
His motivation gathered strength when actors such as
Prakash Raj, Regina Cassandra, Nassar, Rajendra Prasad, Raghu Babu, Ali and Prema said an immediate yes as soon as they read the script that Arjun Sai penned. From a technical standpoint, the film will have the best VFX that a Telugu film has ever seen.
''Our team has been working very hard over the past few months and have left no stone unturned in their attempt to bring out the best possible result. Hope my film will inspire as much as entertain,'' concluded.
The upcoming film which has been bankrolled by Ankith Jain under the banner of Rising Sun Pictures will have music by Anup Rubens. Well-known cinematographer Rasool Ellore is also part of the technical team. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is in charge of editing.
