'I cry for my off days': Rashmika Mandanna opens up; regrets missing younger sister Shiman’s childhood

Rashmika Mandanna may be one of Indian cinema’s brightest stars today, but in a recent emotional interview with Nod Magazine, the actress revealed a side of her life far from the glitz and glamour.


“I cry for my off days,” she admitted during the interview. Rashmika further opened up about the emotional cost of her rising stardom, mainly the pain of missing out on her younger sister Shiman’s childhood. “She’s 13 now. And in the last eight years, since I started working, I haven’t seen her grow up.” That ache, she said, never goes away.

'I haven’t gone home in one and a half years'

It’s not just family that Rashmika feels disconnected from. Her relentless work schedule has also kept her away from her roots and friendships. “I haven’t gone home in one and a half years,” she revealed.

“Earlier, my friends would at least include me in the plans. Now, they don’t even do that.” Rashmika Mandanna revealed’ For her, holidays aren’t relaxing breaks—they're bittersweet reminders of everything she’s missing out on.

Not choosing between dreams and loved ones - I will work twice as hard, but...

Despite the hardships, Rashmika remains determined not to choose between her career and her personal life. Citing her mother’s advice about how one world often comes at the cost of another, Rashmika said firmly, “I will work twice as hard, but I’ll make both of them work. That’s an everyday battle.”
