Here’s why Pawan Kalyan gifted ‘They Call Him OG’ director Sujeeth a brand new Land Rover Defender

On Tuesday, director Sujeeth, who helmed the Pawan Kalyan starrer, ‘They Call Him OG’ shared a post about receiving a luxurious gift from the Power Star. He was gifted a brand new Land Rover Defender by the actor. Let’s find out what made the actor gift it to the director.

About a crucial Japan schedule

According to a report by India Today, the gift was not just a token of appreciation but a heartfelt response to Sujeeth’s dedication to the film. During the final stages of ‘They Call Him OG’, the team needed to shoot an important schedule in Japan. These scenes were crucial to the story and could not be compromised. However, budget constraints made it difficult for the producers to approve the overseas shoot.


It is reported that for the shoot, Sujeeth sold his own Land Rover Defender to raise funds for the Japan schedule. With that money, the travel and filming expenses were covered and the key portions were completed without delay.

Pawan Kalyan’s Grand Gesture

Pawan Kalyan came to know about it, during the dubbing phase of the film. Deeply moved by Sujeeth’s commitment and honesty, the actor decided to return the gesture in a grand way. He gifted Sujeeth a brand new Land Rover Defender, the same model the director had sold earlier. It is also suggested that Pawan Kalyan agreed to take care of the car’s EMIs.

Sujeeth shared his emotions on social media by posting pictures with the new car. In his note, he thanked Pawan Kalyan for the love and encouragement. He wrote that the moment felt unreal, as he had grown up being a fan of the actor and never imagined receiving such a gesture from him.

‘They Call Him OG’ was a box office hit, it made over Rs 295.22 crore worldwide as per Sacnilk.

On the work front, Pawan Kalyan will be seen in the upcoming movie, ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, which is expected to release during the summer of 2026. On the other hand, Sujeeth will be working with Natural Star Nani next.
