Ran Daggubati’s portrayal of a deadly and cruel villain
Bhallaladeva in ‘Baahubali’
earned him a pan Indian appeal. After this film, he has starred in a couple of Telugu films, which turned out to be massive hits of that year. With basking in the sunshine of success, Rana Daggubati went on to sign a couple of multilingual films such as ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ and ‘1940’, which are in filming phase.
Apart from these films, it was already reported that Rana had signed a big budget trilingual film
‘Hiranyakashipu’
, which will be shot simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. According to Hindu Puranas, Hiranyakashipu is the most notorious and deadly
asura king
. He will reportedly be seen playing the titular role in the film. There was also a buzz that the film will be made on a whopping budget of Rs
180 crore
.
The film will be directed by
Gunashekar
of ‘Rudramadevi’ fame, and bankrolled by Suresh Babu. Now, according to the latest buzz, the project will go on floors sometime in June. Pre-production work has come to end and nearly 17 VFX studios will be working for the graphical content in the film. By playing his first mythological character, Rana Daggubati seems to push the envelope for villainery much further than anyone else.
