Harish Shankar responds to fan requesting him to stop making remakes
Harish Shankar's upcoming film, 'Mr. Bachchan', continues this trend, being a remake of the Hindi film 'Raid'. The film is set to hit the screens on August 15, as officially announced by the makers. He is a well-known director in Telugu cinema due to his adaptation hits.
Following the release date announcement, a social media user requested Shankar to stop remaking films and to create original stories that showcase his unique writing talent. The user wrote, "I request you, Sir. Better be this will be the last remake from you. Mee writing ki you can do more magic on your own. Mirapakay, Shock inka brain lone thiruguthunnay. Comeback with a banger. All the best for #MrBacchan".
In response, Harish Shankar assured the netizen that 'Mr. Bachchan' would not feel like a remake. He wrote, "Idhi choosi nuvvu remake ani feel aithe appudu maatlaadukundhaam bro am the most social media friendly director… so u can communicate any time".
In the past, Harish Shankar has some of the hits in the form of adaptations, in 'Gabbar Singh', remake of the Hindi film 'Dabangg', 'Gaddalakonda Ganesh', which was a remake of the Tamil blockbuster 'Jigarthanda'.
'Mr. Bachchan' features Ravi Teja and Bhagyashree Bhorse in the lead roles. Bhagyashree, making her Telugu debut, plays the female lead, while Jagapathi Babu takes on the role of the main antagonist. The film is expected to see Ravi Teja as a government employee conducting a significant raid, like the plot of the original 'Raid' from 2019.
