No matter how many petty fights or quarrels a brother and sister have, they share an incredible bond which is pure and beautiful. The loving and caring relationship they share is something that has been the inspiration for many Telugu flicks which captured and showcased it beautifully on the big screen.
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, here are a few Telugu films that have perfectly depicted this inseparable bond between siblings.
'Annavaram' (2006)

Pawan Kalyan and Sandhya played a brother-sisters dup in the Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao directorial 'Annavaram'. In this film, Annavaram, played by Pawan was ready to do anything for his sister, Varam played by Sandhya. The funniest thing in the film sees Annavaram cutting off a girl’s long hair for the sake of his sister. After getting married, Varam goes to the city to live with her husband and the family face several issues with local dons. However, Annavaram rises to the occasion and helps his sister to be free from her enemies.
'Rakhi' (2006)

In the film 'Rakhi', Rama Krishna played by Jr NTR is a man looking for a job in the Railways in order to take care of his sister, Gayathri played by Manjusha. Both share an affectionate bond, but things take a turn for the worse when she gets married and is harassed by her in-laws. They go to the extent of burning her alive for additional dowry. This incident sends her brother Rama on a mission to avenge her death. Jr NTR put up a remarkable performance in this Krishna Vamsi directed film.
'Gorintaku' (2008)

Rajasekhar and Meera Jasmine ruled the screen with the film 'Gorintaku'. The major highlight of the film is when Lakshmi, played by Meera Jasmine gets sick, and the people of the village offer prayers to the God begins a fast. Ashok’s wife, however, torchers the sister and throws her out from the house. Finally, she succumbs to her illness and dies. Saddened this, Ashok also passes away. Rajasekhar and Meera Jasmine gave a performance of a lifetime with this heart-breaking tale.
'Puttintiki Ra Chelli' (2003)

Sivanna and Laxmi are orphans who have to fend for themselves in the film 'Puttintiki Ra Chelli'. Since the untimely death of their parents, Sivanna takes up the responsibility to look after his beloved sister. A young guy Ajay falls in love with Laxmi and they get married against the wish of his parents. Ajay’s parents accuse Laxmi of having an extra-marital affair with some other guy. He believes his parents and forces her to leave the house. Unfortunately, she dies after gives birth to a baby boy and her brother Sivanna takes up the responsibility again to care for the baby.
'Hitler' (1997)

'Hitler' is the story of five sisters and their overprotective brother who has been taking care of them since the death of their parents. Madhav Rao played by Chiranjeevi is everything for his beloved sisters, although they think that he overprotective. The story of the film follows his journey to give his sisters the best while also making many sacrifices along the way.
