Not every day can we find a versatile actress like Trisha Krishnan who has got the perfect blend of convincing acting chops, expressive face and a dazzling screen-presence! In an extensive film career spanning for close to two decades, the 36-year-old beautiful diva managed to stay relevant in her characters without falling into the quintessential trap. This birthday will certainly be a special one for the ‘96’ lady since she has bagged immense critical acclaim and several awards for her natural performance opposite Vijay Sethupathi in the romantic-drama.

After positioning herself as a successful commercial actress, Trisha altered her direction and balanced her repertoire by opting for content-driven projects, female-oriented scripts and some brilliant supporting roles in between like Rudhra opposite Dhanush in ‘Kodi’. After romancing Rajinikanth in a short-yet-sweet role in ‘Petta’ earlier this year, Trisha presently has four films lined up in Kollywood which include ‘Garjanai’, ‘Sathuranga Vettai 2’, ‘1818’ and ‘Paramapadham Vilayattu’. Trisha was born into a Tamil Brahmin family in Chennai. She completed her entire schooling in the city and pursued her graduation in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). Not many know that the cute belle was keen to pursue an acting career from a young age itself, but resisted that thought as her priority was academics. And guess what, she had also initially aspired to become a criminal psychologist. During school & college, her favourite subject would be Mathematics.

Upon wrapping up her education, Trisha Krishnan ventured into modelling and subsequently appeared in several print advertisements and TV commercials. The attractive personality was just 16 when she was crowned both ‘Miss Salem’ and ‘Miss Madras’ in 1999. After garnering fame with her modelling stint, Trisha managed to reach the final of ‘Miss India 2001’ beauty pageant and grab the ‘Beautiful Smile’ award. Over the years, she has been a star brand endorser for many global products which includes soft drinks, cosmetics, automobiles and many more. The South actress also appeared in Falguni Pathak's music video ‘Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye’ as Ayesha Takia's friend.

After featuring in an uncredited role as Simran’s friend in the 1999 film ‘Jodi’, Trisha made her lead debut with the 2002 romantic-drama ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’ starring Suriya as the protagonist. Though the film was a moderate success at the box-office, critics unanimously raved the debutante’s performance claiming that she was "undoubtedly a refreshing new find, with sparkling eyes and appealing demeanour". After impressing the masses with her glamour show in Vikram’s ‘Saamy’, Trisha bagged good marks for her terrific portrayal as Balamani in the Priyadarshan directorial ‘Lesa Lesa’. Since the massive success of ‘Ghilli’ in 2004, there has been no looking back for the star heroine in Kollywood.

After finding her feet in Tamil, the ravishing babe debuted in Telugu cinema with MS Raju’s romantic-action film ‘Varsham’. Starring ‘Rebel Star’ Prabhas as the protagonist, the film turned Trisha into an overnight sensation with glowing praises from both critics and audience. She looked mesmerising in all the songs and her portrayal as Sailaja, a middle-class girl who becomes a film star on her father's insistence is top-notch. She repeated the magic once again in her second Tollywood outing ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’. The Prabhu Deva directorial opened to a fantastic response from the viewers and the performances of all lead actors were unanimously praised by everyone.

Trisha’s only Bollywood film is ‘Khatta Meetha’ opposite Akshay Kumar. Considered to be an ardent animal lover, she has also been PETA’s Goodwill Ambassador and collaborated with them in issuing a public appeal to domesticate stray dogs rather than craving for pedigreed foreign breeds. PETA praised Trisha for her work and sent her an appreciation letter highlighting her animal rescue work and efforts to encourage people to adopt Indian community dogs. On Jan 2015, Trisha Krishnan got engaged to a Chennai-based businessman named Varun Manian. However, four months later, the actress announced that the engagement has been called off.
