It’s not a cakewalk for North-Indian divas to flew down south and impress the regional viewers right from the word go. While a few leading ladies have successfully managed to do so, other starlets have either sacrificed their dreams or settled down in their own territories. Amid this scenario, a beautiful belle hailing from Delhi struck the right chord with Telugu viewers’ courtesy her cute looks, mesmerising personality and convincing emoting skills.

She is none other than the ravishing Surbhi Puranik. Followed by a short-yet-fruitful stint in Kollywood, the ‘Express Raja’ actress moved to Tollywood and made her presence felt in a bunch of exciting flicks. With modelling assignments, lead roles, item songs & cameo appearances; it’s been a roller-coaster ride for Surbhi who is celebrating her birthday today. The above still has been clicked during the shooting of Dillore Dillore song from ‘Okka Kshanam’. While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Delhi, Surbhi developed a fascination towards films and decided to test her fate as an actress. After participating in a few modelling assignments, the beautiful starlet took up a full-fledged acting course at the famous Imago Acting School, where Barry John and Manoj Bajpayee were her tutors. From then on, she went on to auditions like every newcomer.

After going through several auditions, Surbhi Puranik grabbed her first break on the silver screen with the 2013 Tamil-vigilante film ‘Ivan Veramathiri’. She played the leading lady’s role of Malini who is a cute and timid girl. Impressed by her dedication shown in learning Tamil dialogues and the extra effort put in to get the diction right, director Saravanan praised the debutant to the core. Despite bagging a solid hit in her maiden attempt, Surbhi couldn’t find any lead roles in Kollywood apart from a couple of cameos in Dhanush’s ‘Raghuvaran B.Tech’ and ‘Jeeva’.

It was Sundeep Kishan who recommended and encouraged Surbhi to try out her luck in Tollywood. During the shoot of a Tamil film which never really took off, the young hero advised the Delhi girl to give an audition for a particular Telugu film. Pretty much satisfied with her act, the makers finalised Surbhi as the leading lady in the 2015 romantic comedy ‘Beeruva’ which turned out to be a decent hit at the ticket counters. With successive films like ‘Express Raja’, ‘Gentleman’ and ‘Okka Kshanam’, the ‘Attack’ bombshell succeeded in striking the right chord with Telugu viewers.

Courtesy her attractive looks, dazzling personality and convincing acting chops, Surbhi Puranik has a long way ahead in T-town. With over a million followers on Instagram and close to half-a-million on Twitter, she is an active celebrity on social media who constantly shares eye-popping stuff from personal life and photo-shoots. Besides films, the ravishing diva is also interested in oil paintings, drawing caricatures and sketches about common people. Presently, she has a couple of Telugu and a Tamil film in hand.
