The evergreen beauty, Shriya Saran, who carved a niche for herself in Tollywood turns 38 today. Its been two decades since she made her debut in 2001 and the actress has already worked with stars like Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Nagarjuna, Rajinikanth, etc. With a huge fan base, the actress even went on to feature in a Hollywood film directed by Deepa Mehta titled based on Salman Rushdie’s novel.We bring to you five iconic films that have been turning points in the actress’ career.
Santosham
Her first blockbuster, the Nagarjuna and Prabhu Deva starrer saw her essaying the role of a fun-loving girl Bhanu, who falls in love with Nagarjuna but let’s him go when he falls in love with someone else. Due to an accident, she laters ends up marrying him. The film won a Filmfare for best film, giving the actress a strong foothold in the industry.

Tagore
The gorgeous actress played Devaki, a social worker in this 2003 blockbuster opposite Megastar Chiranjeevi and Jyothika. A remake of the Tamil film , this action drama was screened at the International Indian Film Academy Awards. Her dance moves in the song were the highlight of the film that revolved around a common man, who wanted to abolish corruption in the society.

Chatrapathi
Released in 2005, starring the Rebel Star Prabhas was another memorable film in Shriya’s career. Director by SS Rajamouli, the actress essayed the role of a government officer who falls for Prabhas. This film helped her win her first Filmfare nomination for Best Actress.

Sivaji: The Boss
One of the biggest blockbusters of Shriya’s career, starring Rajinikanth won the actress accolades and appreciation in both Tamil and Telugu industry for her acting skills. A national award-winning film, it saw Shriya portray the role of Rajinikanth’s wife.

Gopala Gopala
A remake of the 2015 Bollywood blockbuster , the film saw the actress in the role of a loving wife that helped her win the hearts of the audience. Paired opposite Venkatesh Daggubati, the film also featured Powerstar Pawan Kalyan.
