Varanasi-born Shanvi Srivastava is one among the few bombshells who have managed to strike the right chord with Telugu viewers’ courtesy her solid emoting skills, arresting looks, striking figure and mesmerising screen-presence.

During graduation days itself, Shanvi was roped in by B Jaya to play the leading lady in the 2012 Telugu film ‘Lovely’. After bagging accolades for her terrific portrayal in ‘Adda’, she featured in a couple of Telugu films before moving onto Kannada cinema. Close to five years in Sandalwood and at present, she is the most-wanted heroine with a bagful of superhits in her kitty. Gearing up for the release of Rakshit Shetty’s Avane Srimannarayana, Shanvi Srivastava has celebrated her birthday on Sunday (November 9). Born and brought up in Varanasi, Shanvi Srivastava moved to Mumbai to pursue her graduation. During college days itself, she forayed into Telugu cinema by playing the female lead opposite Aadi Sivakumar in B Jaya’s romantic-comedy ‘Lovely’. According to critics, she made an impressive debut by pulling off the titular role with ease. Though her second film ‘Adda’ ended up as a box-office debacle, she proved her mettle with convincing acting chops and irresistible glamour show. Shanvi’s last noted film in Telugu was Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rowdy’.

From high school itself, Shanvi Srivastava was aspiring to be a national athlete. She was expected to win a medal when she represented Uttar Pradesh in a 100m hurdle race. Sadly, because of a fellow participant, she slipped her foot and got badly hurt. Opening up on the unforgettable incident, Shanvi says “When I got up and looked around, everybody was laughing at me. It was so agonizing. I was very sensitive in those days. I would get depressed just like that. But today when people appreciate my acting, it boosts my confidence.” Looks like her life is meant for acting rather than sports!

In her maiden attempt, Shanvi has managed to win the hearts of Kannadigas as the ‘cute ghost’ in the horror-comedy ‘Chandralekha’. Starring Chiranjeevi Sarja as the protagonist, this Sandalwood remake of ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ received an overwhelming response at the box-office. During the 2016 edition of SIIMA awards, the sexy siren won the best actress award (her first) for her second Kannada movie Masterpiece. The success of the action-thriller turned her into an overnight star with a queue of films in the pipeline.

Shanvi Srivastava might be a successful heroine and confident actress today but she has spent sleepless nights a few years back (2014 to mid-2015). Speaking to a popular magazine, she elaborated on her experience during those tough times. “I did not have a single offer at that point of time. I was depressed and would worry about where I was heading. I am more of a positive person now. I believe that whatever happens is for the good. I kept working on my skills and appearance. I have matured as an actor. I am also into fitness these days,” she adds.

Recently, the theatrical trailer of Kannada film Avane Srimannarayana released to a stupendous response from netizens. Starring Rakshit Shetty in the titular role, the spaghetti western thriller will be releasing in five languages and the Telugu version is titled as Athade Srimannarayana. Shanvi Srivastava plays a reporter in the big-budget project and she is eagerly waiting for the release. The 4-minute trailer showcased the protagonist as a police officer in a fictional town of south India during the 1980s and the story seems to revolve around a treasure hunt.

Besides films, Shanvi Srivastava is a popular model who commands a solid following on Instagram. The blonde bombshell treats her fans by sharing hot photos of herself from drool-worthy photo-shoots.
